You don’t have to do it alone
Supportive counseling for teens and adults
Support when you need it
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and unmanageable. Whether you’re grappling with anxiety or depression, reeling from a major life change, or simply feeling stuck, know that you are not alone. I’m here to offer compassionate support to help you navigate through difficult times and find a path forward.
Reasons you may be seeking help
Depression
Depression can feel hopeless. It can be hard to find our way through, when even getting out of bed can feel insurmountable. You don’t have to do it alone: I’m here to support you through these hard seasons.
Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like constant worry, panic, restlessness, and body cues that “something is wrong.” This makes it so hard to function, to enjoy life. Through therapy, you can learn ways to interact with your anxiety, to manage it and to find experiences of safety in your own body.
Neurodivergence
It can be so taxing just existing in our overstimulating world. In therapy we can explore your sensory needs, develop effective self-care strategies, and gain insight into ways you may have been editing yourself in order to “fit in.”
Trauma
Some experiences are too much for our nervous systems to bear. It can be hard to move forward when our bodies and brains feel stuck in the past, but therapy can play a critical role in healing from what happened and finding thriving in the present.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
OCD can make you feel disoriented and overwhelmed. Therapy can be a space to make sense of what is going on inside your head, learn new ways to cope, and have the support of a trusted resource as you face your fears.
Life Stressors
Whether you are dealing with grief and loss, burnout, or adjusting to major life changes, therapy can be a helpful way to process and make space for your emotions in order to find a path forward.
Relationship Issues
Sometimes we find ourselves stuck repeating patterns we don’t like in our relationships. Our current relationships can also remind us of ways we felt hurt in the past. Some of us have difficulty with setting and holding effective boundaries. Therapy can help with all of these challenges, as a space to reflect on these patterns and identify new ways of relating with those we care about most.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is a combination of tangible evidence-based tools along with an empathic, person-centered presence. I know that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I tailor my approach to fit your unique needs. I integrate trauma-informed and somatic practices to my work, ensuring that we find the approach that resonates best with you.
I am dedicated to helping you navigate life’s challenges and committed to walking alongside you on your journey. I believe that difficulties become more manageable when faced together. It’s an honor to hear your story and provide support as you traverse life’s ups and downs.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence based treatment for healing from trauma and other adverse life events. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help your brain get “unstuck” so that you can feel better and move forward.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
This approach stops unwanted thoughts and feelings from running your life. I will help you learn to tolerate and accept difficult or unpleasant internal experiences in order to take your power back.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
With CBT, we will evaluate your thoughts and behaviors as a way to challenge unhelpful automatic thoughts and intentionally practice actions and thinking patterns that can help you to thrive.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
Through ERP, you will have the support to face your fears in a slow, intentional way in order learn to tolerate uncertainty and anxiety without falling into unhelpful compulsions.
